My family went to a bowling birthday party. Our friend Brittany turned 17! I suppose I could have changed the title before publishing this post.

My January 2012 Favorites
Oh my, I've probably had four cups of tea every day of January. I didn't always like tea, and then a few years ago I started drinking chai tea, but now I really love most kinds. My favorites are:
-Twinnings English Breakfast tea (with milk and sugar is great, or just on its own)
- Celestial Seasonings Chai Tea (with a splash of soy milk)
Also, Jammie Dodgers are the British jam-filled sandwich cookies (biscuits) in the picture, and they are in the ethnic foods aisle at the grocery store, and they are so wonderful with tea.
These slippers are from Sam's Club and I love them. Okay I found the website. Here's the link. They were a lot less expensive at Sam's Club. The brand is Dearfoams except maybe all the letters are supposed to be lower case. It seems that way. Their slogan is "make yourself comfortable." In conclusion, check out your local Sam's Club for some Dearfoams slipper boots. Unless you don't have a Sam's Club card (or a Sam's Club near you, for that matter) because that would end up being far too expensive and too much trouble for some very comfortable slippers. I mean, they're great, but I suppose you can find slippers at a variety of locations, or go without completely. What a sad existence, though, to be without slippers.

Project #19: Make Macarons
I made macarons last night! I've always wanted to, but I assumed the process was complex and difficult because they're sold for $2 each at French bakeries.
As it turns out, I can make macarons at home! (And you can, too!)

My Sisters
This is a picture of my sisters and me that I took with the flash on, so we're all desperately trying to keep our eyes open. I think the project was a success.

Stubbornly Growing In A Different Direction
SF picked out this type for me because it is "you know elegant and graceful or whatever but some of the edges aren't even and stuff like on the a in the corner it crosses and the d sticks up really high and those are your quirks." I have not yet decided if I am touched or offended.
However, to share a blog with me, she must know me better than any one else. As the saying goes, a blog is the truest sign of devotion.
For those of you who are not joined to my name by a hyphen or a forward slash or in the case of the url, no space at all, you may not know I resemble a cowlick.
Sometimes I stick out. I try to smooth away the unwieldy stray, but it resists being combed flat. Though I work to act normal and presentable, some of my eccentricities persist.
Though I seem quite and restrained, I have crazy bits that cannot be tamed.
I drew a comb because it is supposed to be sweeping away the curlicue or what I thought looked to be a cowlick on the "o."
What font describes you?

Sketch
I had the privilege of drawing this lovely lady recently. She is a preacher, and a student wished to give her a present on Sunday. I hope she likes her portrait.

It's Johnny
Here's a picture I drew. It's supposed to be Johnny Depp. But the real Johnny Depp is three-dimensional, so they're not really the same.
Hope you like it!

Cupcakes!
I made cupcakes to bring in to the office tomorrow! Also, I learned how to make these picture video things that are called GIFs which must be an acronym but I haven't yet looked it up! Can't wait to make some more. GIFs. And also cupcakes.

Easy Ways to Update Makeup + Hair for the New Year
My sister Tyler was bored of her look, and she has been considering getting a drastic haircut, but wanted a change in her hair and makeup until then.
She usually wears makeup that is mostly natural, and doesn't like to spend a lot of time on hair and makeup in the morning before work, so I used Urban Decay Cream Eyeshadow in Asphalt on her eyelids. It looks dark in the tube, but comes off as a light gray with some sparkles (for fun).
How to Look Sort of Like You're from the 1920s (okay, that's a bit of a stretch, but what ELSE am I going to call this post??)
If you have straight hair that doesn't hold curls well, read on!
Also, read on otherwise because you LOVE this blog!
Here's how to get lovely, loose, curly waves that last:

Just Playin'
All of you loyal followers may have noticed
SF and I often do things for no particular reason
other than to entertain ourselves.
Personification
Have you ever wondered
what would happen
if ordinary objects
came to have
extroidinary life?
Maybe when you were a child...
but since then?
I have.
And since life is not as colorful as Toy Story,
I had to make do
with
googly eyes...
glue...
markers...
construction paper...
imagination...
those things on a kindergartner's (I looked up this word's origin. It is German. That explains a lot.)
teacher mandated
school shopping list.
Well
I crafted some creatures
and they turned out
to be quite goofy
as if created by Pixar itself.
You make think some toilet papers are scary...
