How to Look Sort of Like You're from the 1920s (okay, that's a bit of a stretch, but what ELSE am I going to call this post??)

If you have straight hair that doesn't hold curls well, read on!

Also, read on otherwise because you LOVE this blog!

Here's how to get lovely, loose, curly waves that last:

1) Start with a smile because every hairstyle looks best with a smile behind it.

2) Wrap small, equally-sized sections of hair around the barrel of a 1" curling iron, towards your face.

3) But don't let the curls fall! Catch them, and pin them to your head like this, with bobby pins and NOT push pins, and DEFINITELY NOT bowling pins.

4) After all of your hair is pinned up in curls, spray all of it with hairspray, fairly liberally to make sure the curls will stay for a long time.

5) Watch an episode or two of your favorite TV show (I recommend Better Off Ted, Parks and Recreation, or Bones) and then remove all the pins and let down your curls.

They'll look like this.

6) Then, brush through your hair and it will look like this.

7) Spray a little more hairspray after you've brushed it, and add a fun headband with rhinestones or flowers (or even a boring headband with no rhinestones OR flowers) if you'd like.

8) Strike a pose (if you can find someone with a camera nearby). This is also a good idea if no one is around.

9) And then you're done with your hair and you look great (see above). Give yourself a nice pat on the back, or even take yourself out for some ice cream! You deserve it.
