After a bit of research, we determined that most cheese fondue recipes were relatively similar. We rubbed garlic cloves on the bottom of the pan until they were mostly gone, added some white wine that we brought to a simmer, and then stirred in the cheese.
We sliced apples and cut a baguette into cubes for dipping.
This is a recipe I would definitely try again. From beginning to end, it took less than a half an hour to make, and I think it seems impressive but takes little effort.
Now here's an acrostic poem for you about fondue. It's called "Fun-due" because that's the first word in the poem.
Fun-due (enough said)
Overwhelmingly positive reaction from everyone involved
Never would have imagined we could make such great fondue
Delicious for lunch, dinner, or even reheated for breakfast (although I'm not sure if this is generally advised)
Unfortunately, we didn't have a proper fondue pot so it may have been a little bit more successful if the pot were over an open flame while we were eating it
Enough of this poem already, go make yourself some fondue (fun-due)
